The special feature, however, is the design of the fins of the twin-tower CPU cooler. The cooling fins in the front area have a distance of 2.4 mm, while the rear area has a distance of only 1.8 mm. These different distances ensure an optimized outgoing air flow through compression of the air. Cryorig calls it Jet Fin Acceleration System. This allows the heated air to be removed from the tower cooler more quickly. The two finned coolers of the respective cooling tower and the heatpipes in between are welded together in a special soldering process, so that ten percent more surface contact is achieved. The heatpipes are also arranged offset between the two fins, which also ensures optimum heat distribution. The R1 Universal comes with Cryorig’s XF140- fan and the slimmer XT140-fan. Thus, the R1 Universal does not exceed the memory slots and can also be used alongside oversized RAM modules. As an effective anti-vibration measure, four rubber dampers are embedded in each of the two fans at the corners. This dampens the vibration transmission of the fans to the fins. The fans themselves have an extraordinarily quiet bearing, so that the noise level of the entire cooler is 44 dB (A) quiet. Thanks to its outstanding performance and efficiency, the twin-tower cooler is suitable for processors with 240 Watt TDP (Thermal Design Power). The extremely easy installation is particularly smart. The backplate is fixed by hand with knurled screws. This is followed by the holding frame for the CPU, which is also fastened with knurled screws. The heat sink is then attached using the enclosed screwdriver. Thermal conductive paste and a cloth for removing residues are included in the bundle. Mounting clips for an optional third fan are also included.
