The Fractal Design Focus G is a Midi-Tower from the budget segment and offers excellent airflow. This is underscored by Fractal Design’s addition of a mesh-front which helps with airflow and comes equipped with two pre-installed LED fans. The case offers CPU’s excellent cooling thanks to its compatibility with large tower coolers, and the cooler on your graphics card can receive extra cooling with the help of a space reserved for a fan in the bottom of the case. The CPU can be cooled with the addition of coolers up to 165 mm in height, meaning that overclocked processors in particular will benefit from this case. The Midi-Tower is compatible with Mini-ITX-, Micro-ATX- and ATX motherboards and therefore covers an extensive range of different motherboards.Thanks to the mesh front and two pre-installed 120 mm LED fans the Focus G offers superb cooling and airflow directly from the factory. In this configuration, warm air can be exhausted to the rear and via the roof of the case – and if users want to increase cooling further, the case can hold a rear-facing (120 mm) fan or two in the roof (2x 120/140 mm). The bottom of the case is capable of holding an additional 120 mm fan in place of the hard drive cage, markedly improving airflow for the installed graphics card.In spite of the airflow-oriented optimisations, the Fractal Design Focus G also offers fans of water cooling the option of installing AiO water coolers or even a custom loop. In this instance, the front and roof can respectively hold 240 mm dual-radiators. Should the lower drive slot in the front not be used, a 280 mm radiator can even be accommodated.Functional Design with a Large Window and LED FansThe design of the Fractal Design Focus G Midi-Tower is primarily characterised by its functionality. The front of the Midi-Tower is dominated by a large mesh surface for the good airflow it offers. Two of the rarely used 5,25″-type drive bays (for external drives or fan controllers) are located in the upper part of the front, which is then framed by cladding.Thanks to the fans with white LED lighting, the front is particularly easy on the eye and even the interior of the case receives a subtle degree of lighting. The installed hardware can be admired via the window in the left side panel. In order to make the case as light and budget-friendly as possible, Fractal Design uses acrylic glass.Cable Management & DrivesThe Focus G offers between 18 and 25 mm of space for cable management between the motherboard tray and side panel. In front of the power supply, which may be up to 230 mm long, is a drive cage for two 2.5″ or 3.5″ hard drives. The hard drive cage can be removed to make room for a fan in the floow or thicker radiators in the front.
